Dover Cup Race Postponed By Rain
- Updated: June 3, 2007
Dover, Del. ? Tropical Storm Barry washed out Sunday?s Autism Speaks 400 presented by Visa at the Dover International Speedway. The fast-moving storm arrived in Dover early in the morning and continued until mid-day. When the rain stopped for a brief period, track-drying equipment took to the track only to be stopped shortly thereafter when the rain resumed. After analyzing the weather situation, NASCAR officials decided to postpone the race until Monday, June 4 at 11 a.m.
The rain-out marks the third time in 2007 that weather has forced a schedule change. Previously, Cup races at Richmond and Darlington were affected by Mother Nature.
When the race is flagged off, it will mark the sixth go-around for the Car of Tomorrow.
