Gregson Races To An Exciting Victory In The NASCAR Racing Experience 300

DAYTONA BEACH – Noah Gregson scored the biggest victory of his career by winning the 39th Annual NASCAR Racing Experience 300 at the Daytona International Speedway on Saturday afternoon.

Driving the Bass Pro Shops/BRCC Chevrolet owned by JR Motorsports, Gregson is a protégé of Dale Earnhardt Jr., who has been coaching the 21-year old driver.

The winner started 12th but quickly moved into contention, a place he stayed throughout the 120-lap race, the season opener for the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

A multi-car crash on lap 113 stopped the race briefly to allow for removal of several damaged cars.

The green flag came out with three laps to go, setting off a wild scramble for the lead with Gregson in command, a spot he did not yield.

Another wreck took place on the last lap with the race ending under the yellow flag.

Gregson’s victory celebration was a classic one with burnouts, fence climbing and the winner running back and forth near the starting line, all to the delight of the crowd.

“I am very proud of this team and our sponsors. I spent a lot of time with Dale Jr. this week, and he told me, ‘Go have fun, wreckers and checkers, manage the gaps, and be there at the end.’ To calm myself down before the race, I drank some black coffee, and it worked.”

“We sat down and talked about all the scenarios he would have to deal with,” said co-owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. the JRM team has been highly successful at Daytona winning five of the last seven here, each with a different driver. “A great day for our team, and a great day for
the young kid.”

Harrison Burton finished a close second in a Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

Timmy Hill took third with Brandon Jones fourth.

Fifth went to Chase Briscoe.
