This weekend will be the first time a NASCAR race is held at World Wide Technology Raceway. So who do oddsmakers have getting the first win on the new track? Well, that’d be last year’s champion Kyle Larson.
Larson is given +800 odds, or an implied 11.1% chance to win the race. This marks the 11th of 16 races this season that Larson has been named the favorite, That’s 68.8%. His biggest competition is expected to be Kyle Busch, +850, and Denny Hamlin, +900.
However, oddsmakers do believe this is a close race. 8 drivers are given at least +850 Ododds by at least one sportsbook. With Chase Elliott, Martin Truex Jr, Ross Chastain, William Byron, and Ryan Blaney joining the favorites.
Quote from OddsChecker spokesman Kyle Newman, “This race is up for grabs. The only thing that oddsmakers can agree on here is that Kyle Larson is the favorite, after that it’s all fair game. With two sportsbooks putting Ryan Blaney tied with Larson and another dropping him to 8th place. Oddsmakers are riding the hot hand here, Larson has 5 top-10 finishes in his last 6 races, but they’re being conservative with a new track.”
